Job Description

This internship opening is to enable students to work on exploratory work to contribute to digital solutions based on the specific identified problem.

Essential Responsibilities

• Be a part of development team to work on user experience design and research.
• Work closely with the design community to identify business needs, create a problem statement, & develop functional specifications and support software development.
• Work closely with an identified mentor on an allocated project. Analyze, design, test, integrate software components, assemblies or systems that meet business standards and program / product requirements.
• Learn and understand our users-needs, behaviours, and emotions to gather key insights that drive product design.
• Design intuitive interfaces by collaborating with product designers.
• Gather and evaluate user & business requirements in collaboration with product & UX leads.
• Partner with front-end engineers on UI implementation.
• Illustrate design ideas using storyboards, process flows and sitemaps.

Desired Characteristics

• Technology enthusiast. Passion/aptitude for both software and information technology. Up to date with current industry standards, trending software and information technology development tools.
• Strong communication and documentation ability
• Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom. Extra initiatives/engagements in student organizations is a plus.
• Good knowledge about UX design. (Research, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, usability testing etc.)
• Experience using tools like Sketch, Invision, Miro, Adobe CC etc.
• Strong understanding of common UI patterns, information architecture, usability etc.
• Open to work on large and complex enterprise softwares.
• Ability to articulate design decisions to the stakeholders and listen & receive feedback mindfully.
• Have an eye to question, spot errors and flaws.
• Excellent time-management, and the ability to quickly prioritize tasks.
