Infosys Recruitment Process 2026 for Freshers: SE, DSE & Power Programmer

Infosys hires thousands of freshers every year across three ladders — Systems Engineer (SE), Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) and Power Programmer — with recent offers ranging from roughly ₹3.6 LPA to ₹9.5 LPA. This guide walks through the full off-campus recruitment process for 2026, round by round, with preparation pointers for each stage.

The three Infosys fresher roles

Role Typical CTC Focus
Systems Engineer (SE) ~₹3.6 LPA Standard entry role; aptitude + basics
Digital Specialist Engineer (DSE) ~₹6+ LPA Stronger coding and CS fundamentals
Power Programmer up to ~₹9.5 LPA Competitive-programming level problem solving

One application can be considered across ladders — your test performance decides which interview you’re called for. Check what each package means monthly with the in-hand salary calculator.

Round 1 — Online assessment

The off-campus test typically covers three areas. Aptitude: quantitative topics (percentages, ratios, time & work, probability, data interpretation) and logical reasoning (puzzles, arrangements, syllogisms, series). Verbal: reading comprehension, sentence correction and para-jumbles. Pseudo-code / programming MCQs: predict-the-output questions across C, C++, Java and Python constructs — loops, recursion, pointers, arrays, OOP behaviour. For DSE and Power Programmer consideration, there are hands-on coding problems of progressively higher difficulty — practise data structures (arrays, strings, hashing, trees) and standard algorithms (sorting, searching, two-pointer, DP basics).

Practise under time pressure with free timed aptitude sets before test day.

Round 2 — Technical interview

Expect questions from four buckets: your projects (be ready to explain architecture, your specific contribution, and one hard problem you solved); programming fundamentals in your preferred language; CS core — OOPs concepts, DBMS/SQL queries, operating systems basics; and simple live coding — string manipulation, patterns, recursion. Freshers who can write clean code on paper or a shared editor stand out immediately. Revise real Infosys interview questions reported by recent candidates — the repeats are remarkably consistent.

Round 3 — HR interview

Standard but decisive: tell me about yourself, why Infosys, relocation and shift flexibility, service agreement awareness, and behavioural questions (“a time you handled conflict in a team”). Prepare a 60-second introduction that connects your background to the role, and have one genuine question ready to ask them. Our Interview Question Bank has the HR questions freshers actually get asked, sorted by frequency.

After selection — offer and onboarding

Document verification (10th/12th/degree marksheets, ID), background check, then the offer letter with joining location and date. Infosys training at Mysore campus is common for SE roles. If your joining date needs adjustment, ask early and formally — our HR email templates include a ready joining-date extension request.

Eligibility basics

Typically 60% or 6 CGPA throughout academics (10th, 12th, graduation), no active backlogs at joining, and full-time degrees. Specific drives may vary — always confirm on the drive posting. Find current openings on our live off-campus drives page.
