Role 1: DevOps Engineer Apprentice
Join Alcon's cloud and DevOps team to monitor production environments, support CI/CD pipelines and assist with incident response across cloud infrastructure.
- Infrastructure & Operations Support: Monitor production and non-production environments to ensure availability, performance and reliability. Provide L2/L3 support for cloud infrastructure, applications and DevOps tools.
- CI/CD & Automation: Support CI/CD pipelines (build, test, deploy), resolve pipeline failures and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates.
- Incident & Problem Management: Respond to production alerts as part of on-call rotation, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and document SOPs.

Role 2: Infrastructure Support Apprentice
A graduate apprentice role designed to give fresh engineering graduates hands-on experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations.
- Infrastructure Support: Assist in supporting IT infrastructure components — servers, operating systems, storage and basic networking. Perform routine system checks, monitoring and housekeeping under supervision.
- Incident & Service Request Handling: Assist in handling incidents and service requests related to infrastructure issues.
- Documentation & Process Learning: Help update knowledge articles, SOPs and runbooks. Learn IT service management and operational best practices.

- Data Pipeline Engineering: Learn to build and maintain data pipelines, perform data analysis and support analytics use cases aligned with business goals.
- Programming & SQL: Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms with programming knowledge in Python or Java and foundational SQL / databases.
- Cloud & Big Data Awareness: Familiarity with data analytics, big data concepts and cloud platforms (AWS preferred — training will be provided).
