Role Overview – Mechanical Design Engineer Trainee
As a Mechanical Design Engineer Trainee in the Engineering Technology Center, you will create 3D models, plant and piping layouts, isometric drawings and CAD drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants using Autodesk Inventor. You will work on engineered products and process equipment, prepare bills of materials in SAP, and collaborate with project engineers to execute product development plans.
Key Responsibilities
- 3D Modelling: Create 3D models, plant layouts, piping layouts, isometric generation and CAD drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants.
- Drawings: Create general arrangement, assembly and fabrication drawings of engineered products and process equipment.
- Detailing: Understand P&ID, PFD and datasheets to design and detail skid-based systems like UF, RO, CEDI, CIP, UV and Softeners.
- Conversion: Convert 2D drawings to 3D models and reverse-engineer existing designs.
- BOM: Create Bills of Materials in the ERP / SAP system and manage metadata in PDM / PLM (Vault Pro).
- Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functionally and with project engineers to meet technical requirements and quality.

- Educational Qualification: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering with First Class.
- Experience: Fresh engineering graduates are eligible; up to a maximum of 2 years of hands-on 3D CAD (Autodesk Inventor) experience is welcome.
