Red Hat Internship 2026 places you inside Red Hat Global Engineering, the team that builds RHEL, OpenShift and Ansible. Red Hat says its interns are not given busywork. You join a cohort, pair with a senior mentor and take part in the same daily work as full-time engineers, alongside colleagues in other countries.

What you will do in the Red Hat Internship 2026 role

• Design, write and maintain code with your mentor, mainly in Python or Golang
• Add features to Red Hat products such as RHEL and OpenShift, and debug and track issues in them
• Work with Quality Engineering, design, product management and documentation teams across the product cycle
• Rotate across projects and follow a learning curriculum that may cover Ansible, RHEL, OpenShift and AI
• Use everyday engineering tools such as GitHub, Java, JavaScript and Agile workflows

Red Hat Internship 2026 eligibility

• Currently in the final year of a bachelor’s in Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent branch
• Basic programming knowledge and willingness to work in Python, Golang or a similar language
• Working spoken and written English
• Curiosity about how systems work internally, and the ability to learn as part of a wider team

Red Hat Internship 2026 stipend and expected pay

Red Hat does not publish the stipend for this role. Older compensation posts on LeetCode from Red Hat India interns mention ₹20,000 a month in Pune and ₹35,000 a month in Bangalore. More recent estimates put it near ₹45,000 a month. Treat ₹20K–45K a month as a reported range, not an offer, and confirm the figure with HR at the offer stage.
