Role Overview – Apprentice (Graduate Process Engineer)

As an Apprentice (Graduate Process Engineer) at AtkinsRéalis in Pune, you will work in the water and wastewater treatment sector, gaining hands-on experience in the design and analysis of process systems for critical infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity for Chemical and Environmental Engineering freshers to contribute to real-world projects that directly impact communities through clean water and sustainable environmental solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Design for Clean Water Treatment: Prepare detailed process designs for clean water treatment systems including Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), Rapid Gravity Filters (RGF), membrane filtration, and disinfection systems.
• Wastewater Treatment Design: Develop process designs for wastewater treatment technologies such as ASP, Trickling Filters, RBC, SBR, MBBR, MBR, and SAF — systems that are critical for environmental protection.
• Chemical Dosing & Sludge Treatment: Support the design of chemical dosing systems (phosphorus removal, pH adjustment) and sludge treatment units including centrifuges, filter presses, and thickeners.
• Process Flow Diagrams & Mass Balance: Prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), mass balance calculations, P&IDs, and site layout drawings as part of comprehensive process engineering packages.
• Process Control Philosophy: Contribute to writing process control philosophies and technical reports at all stages of the project lifecycle — from concept through to detailed design.
• Multidisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate with structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental engineers across multidisciplinary project teams to deliver integrated, high-quality engineering solutions.
• Innovation & Best Practices: Contribute ideas for process innovation, stay up to date with industry best practices and regulatory standards relevant to the water and environmental engineering sector.

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: B.Tech / B.E in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering is mandatory for this role.
